Dae-Ho Lee Still Rules, Okay?
Before the madness of the regular season replaces the madness of the offseason and Spring Training, I wanted to make one more post about my favorite Large Man Who Plays Baseball, Dae-Ho Lee.
About a month ago, I wrote up a story about my experience over the holidays where I inadvertently asked for a bootleg Dae-Ho Lee jersey and received one from my brother-in-law. It's a hoot, go take a look. Here is a lil' excerpt:
Because the offseason was long and dreadful, I started digging through the MLB.TV a bit more and wanted to share some .gifs I made from the day Dae-Ho Lee became an actual legend when he hit a pinch-hit, walk-off home run off the Jake Diekman and ended a rough early-season losing streak for the Mariners in 2016.
can't help but imagine Dae-Ho thinking, "c'mon gimme that high fastball bullshit one more time motherfucker" but probably something more polite because he is a gentleman.
got yr launch angle right here, hoss
this is very best angle. the launch, the variety of crowd reactions, and the coup de grace pitcher reaction. inject this into my veins, please.
the moose knew.
good job now we will slap you and cover you in liquids and seeds and stuff haha but seriously good job, buddy.
As far as I know, Dae-Ho will ride again with the Lotte Giants this season in South Korea. Here is a mammoth shot and hilariously ho-hum bat flip from the 2017 season. Enjoy.
I can only hope to see more of this in 2018. Keep on swinging, Dae-Ho.
